Pilot BTP for EV Battery Test

PILOT BTP FOR EV BATTERY TEST

Seica primarily designed and developed the PILOT BTP to meet the testing needs of prismatic and non-repetitive cell battery packs for low to medium production volumes.

The PILOT BTP is a fully automated, horizontally oriented test system equipped with four flying test heads, enabling full-scale parallel testing and validation of EV battery packs. Thanks to its exceptional adaptability to irregular layouts and medium-speed testing capability, the PILOT BTP offers an optimal solution for production testing, post-repair testing, and prototype-level validation.

With its flexible architecture and advanced measurement system, the PILOT BTP ensures highly accurate measurements, down to a few μΩ, at a speed of 600 bonds per minute. This allows it to achieve an excellent level of productivity, even for battery packs with irregular and nonrepetitive connections.

Designed to accommodate all types of battery packs, the PILOT BTP offers a maximum test area of 835 mm x 540 mm (32.87" x 21.26") and can integrate with either a Seica transport system or a custom system chosen by the customer.

Direct measurements on the four flying headsThe system features up to 4 independent test heads driven with synchronous brushless motors (XYZ), to provide a high-level dynamic response. Each one of the four heads features a mini fixture to test up to four individual cells in a single movement in either an X or Y axis orientation.

Flying head: 4-wire kelvin test

The tester aims to measure one of the most important parameters of the battery: the bonding resistance.

Each one of the four mini-fixtures flying heads can carry up two coax probes and is equipped with:

Two Four thermally stabilized and insulated resistance meters, which enable the measurement of the bonding resistance of a single battery cell to the common plate. It is possible to discriminate few μΩ resistor values with 1μΩ resolution and high accuracy.

A 200 MHz Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for processing the analog measurements to ensure fast and efficient data processing through a 1 Gigabit Ethernet connection with the system PC.

VIVA>NEXT> Software and MES integration Option

Like any other Seica solution, the PILOT BTP test system, uses the VIVA>NEXT> platform, which provides two authentication methods managed through the Seica proprietary graphic editor MY VIEW:

1. The standard Windows authentication

2. The new ‘VIVA User Authentication’ through which the customer can select the user with different privileges.
